Dr. Trisha Fronczek currently serves as an Asisstant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing at Greensburg campus. Dr. Fronczek primary teaching responsibilities include junior and senior level medical surgical nursing, first year seminar and diversity in nursing, and senior level basic arrhythmia and critical care nursing electives.
Dr. Fronczek’s passion for nursing students and new graduate nurses began when she was transitioning into a novice nurse role herself. The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) assigned to the unit was compassionate and possessed a wealth of knowledge that she transferred to the new graduate nurses. When Dr. Fronczek’s novice year was complete, she knew she would like to follow in the CNS’ footsteps and work with nurses in their journey throughout their nursing careers.
Dr. Fronczek is active in the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) as a Beacon Review Volunteer and member of the Three Rivers Chapter. Dr. Fronczek has also been a member of the Sigma Theta Tau ETA Chapter for 3 years and served as the Pitt Greensburg liaison during that time. Additionally, Dr. Fronczek is active in her local school district and with the Girl Scouts of Southwest PA.
Dr. Fronczek earned her BSN from Penn State University in 2001, her master’s degree in nursing education from Towson University in 2007, and just completed her DNP from the University of Pittsburgh in 2024 with her concentration in Health System Executive Leadership (HSEL).
