On October 10, 1962, University of Pittsburgh Chancellor Edward H. Litchfield announced Pitt's intention to open a regional campus in Greensburg, PA.

Founders' Day Duck Dash!
The annual Founders' Day Duck Dash took place Thursday, October 10, 2024!

Student- and community-decorated rubber ducks will once again take to the waves of Slate Run Creek on campus. The ducks will race for the glory of a spot in campus history!
The name of the winning duck - and its designer - will be added to the Founders' Day Duck Dash trophy!

How can I enter a duck in the dash?

Do I have to follow rules for my duck design or duck name?
- No hate speech/imagery or cursing involved in the duck's design or name.
- No inclusion of duck performance-enhancing additions such as motors or sails.
- No inclusion of substances or materials that could damage the ecosystem of Slate Run Creek.
Can I have more than one duck in the race?
No!
What happens to the ducks afterwards?
Our dedicated team of helpers will ensure that all ducks/duck-orations are collected from Slate Run Creek following the race. You will be able to keep your duck if you wish.
