Nimish Bakshi attended Pitt-Greensburg from which he graduated in 2005 with a BS in business management and a minor in economics.
What brought you to Pitt-Greensburg?
It gave me the opportunity to explore being on my own and not far from home. It also gave me the chance to be independent, especially living in the Academic Village for all four years.

What activities were you involved with as a student?
I was involved in Choir, was a probability and statistics tutor for three years and was very involved in Circle K, the collegiate version of Kiwanis.
Did you have a favorite professor, staff member, coach, or mentor that really impacted your life?
I had two favorites. One was Professor Dean Nelson for probability and stats. He always challenged his students to do better. My favorite staff member was Officer Simeon McClain.
Of all the classes you took, what is the one class you would recommend everyone take? Who taught the class? Why would you recommend it?
The one course that really impacted me was International Business. It really gave me a better understanding of how to view things not just from a limited scope when it came to business, but to think outside the box.
What do you remember most vividly from your time at Pitt-Greensburg?
I enjoyed when the coffeehouse was fully created by the Academic Village and the sense of community it provided.
What have you been up to since graduation?
I am a senior reporting analyst with CVS Health for the past 17 years and live in the Pittsburgh area. During my professional life, I have obtained a professional scrum master certification. I am actively involved in my company's Asian employee resource group as national co-chair. Outside of work, I am an avid new runner, having run in multiple races, including two Pittsburgh marathon relays. I have been able to travel all over the world, and the international business course I took really impacted this part of my life.
How did your experiences and education at Pitt-Greensburg prepare you for life after college?
It helped me learn more about myself and what to look out for in the real world.
As an alum, how do you support Pitt-Greensburg?
I promote awareness of the campus with my extended network and have attended Pitt-Greensburg at PNC Park.
What advice do you have for your fellow Bobcats?
Get actively involved in various clubs and sports as they will help you grow as an individual many fold.

I have gotten lost in Oslo, Norway with a dead cellphone and had to figure out how to get around.
